Large 8vo. 113p. Publisher's blue cloth, paper illustration on front cover, paper spine label, d.w., fine copy. 115 Illustrations. From the Krown & Spellman Collection.

More Information: Thompson, Charles John Samuel (1862-1943), medical historian and museum curator. "In 1927 Sir Arthur Keith arranged Thompson's appointment as honorary curator of the historical collections of the Royal College of Surgeons. This gave Thompson a new focus for his energies, and he produced A Guide to the Surgical Instruments and Objects (1929) and a series of articles on surgical instruments in the British Journal of Surgery (1937Ð9). The destruction of much of the collection by bombing in May 1941 led Thompson to publish his articles in book form as The History and Evolution of Surgical Instruments (1942). Although many of the instruments were salvaged, Thompson's post was inevitably discontinued in July 1942." [Oxford D. N. B.]          Garrison & Morton 5811.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
