First American edition, mixed state (no tailpiece on page 441 (second state), caption of "St. Louis Hotel" on page 443 (first state)). Octavo. 624 pages. Publisher's full brown cloth, front board and spine decoratively stamped in black and gilt. Spine lightly sunned, binding rubbed with some edgewear. Text toned with several gutters overopened. Very good.

    [Together with:] Samuel L. Clemens. The Curious Republic of Gondour. New York: Boni and Liveright, [1919]. First edition. Octavo. 140 pages. Publisher's white cloth backstrip over printed paper boards, spine stamped in black. In the rare original dust jacket. Some rubbing, toning to edge of cloth binding, some soiling to boards. Endleaves a bit offset, some toning to endleaves and text. Jacket spine toned, creased, with edges chipped. Jacket panels edgeworn, soiled, chipped, creased, with some creased tears. A very good copy.

    [And:] Mark Twain. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Illustrated by Thomas Hart Benton. New York: The Limited Editions Club, 1942. One of 1,500 copies signed by Benton (#969). Octavo. 396 pages. Publisher's full brown cloth, printed paper label on spine. Spine toned, label toned and soiled, minor offsetting to endleaves. Housed in publisher's slipcase, with printed paper label (toned, edgeworn, mildly chipped, one small repair). Very good.
