    Description

Mark Twain. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. (Tom Sawyer's Comrade). New York: Charles L. Webster and Company, 1885. First U. S. edition, first printing with typographical errors at pages [9], [13], and 57, page 283 being a cancel with corrected illustration. Octavo. 366, [2, blank] pages. First-state frontispiece. Publisher's green cloth, spine and front stamped in gilt and black; all text block edges trimmed. Spine ends pushed and worn, starting to fray; minor rubbing and insect damage to boards; light wear to board edges; corners bumped, with boards peeking through cloth. Evidence of some light handling to endpapers; ownership sticker at front pastedown; previous owner signature effaced from front free endpaper. Text block softly dulled with age, particularly along edges, with some faint, marginal soiling scattered throughout interior; tissue guard at frontispiece creased, with some mild discoloration from offsetting. Very good. BAL 3415.
