Inscribed, "For Otto Penzler / Thanks for making / me rich / Best Wishes / Mario Puzo." Octavo. 446, [2, blank] pages. Publisher's one-quarter black cloth over white cloth-covered boards, spine lettered in gilt, front with gilt ornament of a hand holding puppet strings; fore-edge untrimmed; red endpapers; original first issue dust jacket, priced at $6.95 with "6903" code at foot of front flap. Slightest trace of shelf wear to binding; some faint foxing along board edges. Mild rubbing to jacket, with a hint of wear along folds and at fold ends and one short tear, less than half an inch, at head of rear panel; very faint yellowing to flaps and white lettering. Very nearly fine.
