Peter Schenk and A. F. Zürner. Americæ tam Septentrionalis quam Meridionalis in Mappa Geographica Delineatio. [Amsterdam: circa 1700]. Map of the Americas with California as an island, and principal islands in the Pacific. Single sheet, two pages (20.5 x 23.9375 inches; 522 x 608 mm.). Colored. All margins extended with some repaired tears at right and bottom edges. Small chip out of upper left corner. Regular age toning with some foxing to edges, margins. Areas of discoloration in oceans, possibly from offsetting or attempt to efface inking; drop of ink, inked line doodles and one annotation all near Tropic of Cancer on either side of Central America, one additional note at tip of South America. Very good. Two full-color cartouches: upper depicting natives hunting jaguars; lower showing explorers seated around a table while in the background natives worship at a temple and a battle wages, with figure of America displaying her wealth.
