    An Attractive Hand-Colored Map of Persia by John Speed

    John Speede [sic] (1552-1629), cartographer. The Kingdome of Persia with the cheef Citties Habites described. [London]: 1626. Hand-colored map, taken from the first edition of Speed's Prospect. Approximately 15.25 x 20.5 inches. Some minor wrinkling, vertical central crease, reinforced on verso. A bright, fine example, with vibrant color. Matted, framed and glazed. This handsome map has four views of Persian towns (Spaha, Ormus, Tarvis, and Gilan), and has eight images of Persian citizens at the left and right margins.
