    Johannes Baptista Homann. Amplissima regionis Mississipi seu Provinciæ Ludovicianæ... in America Septentrionali Anno 1687. Nuremberg: [circa 1720-1763]. Map of eastern North America. Single sheet, two pages (20.75 x 24.375 inches; 527 x 620 mm.). Colored. Darkening to central fold, possible repairs; previously mounted on cardboard or paperboard and peeled away, remains brown papery surface on verso; glue stains; some weakening of paper. Mild toning, soiling to map. Good. Depicts southeastern Canada and the eastern half of America to New Mexico, largely occupied by the French holdings of "La Louisiane." Identifies names of Native American territories. With cartouches depicting Native peoples with bison, a missionary, and a number of beavers foregrounding Niagara Falls.
