    Abraham Ortelius. Americae Sive Novi Orbis, Nova Descriptio. Antwerp: 1595. Original western hemisphere map, third state, with the bulge in South America removed, from a Latin edition of Ortelius's Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. Two pages (16.875 x 20.625 inches; 429 x 523 mm.). Full hand-coloring; ornamental border; roman letter text on the recto of the first leaf. Centerfold reinforced with a strip of paper; margins tanned and lightly soiled with a couple insignificant blemishes in the cartouche. Very good.
