1838 Bradford Map of Texas. 13" x 16.5", "Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1838, by T. G. Bradford, in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of Massachusetts." Engraving by George W. Boynton. The map includes Texas and parts of the Indian Territory, Louisiana, Coahuila, and Tamaulipas, and was likely taken from An Illustrated Atlas, Geographical, Statistical, and Historical, of the United States and the adjacent countries published in 1838. The atlas included maps of North America, Canada, the United States, 28 U.S. states, the Republic of Texas, the Caribbean, and eight U.S. cities: Washington, New Orleans, Louisville, Cincinnati, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. We have previously sold this map, with larger areas of hand-coloring. The exemplar offered here has multiple outlines and has only the Gulf of Mexico and exterior border filled in light blue.

Condition: Light toning, darker around edges with slight foxing. Small, clean tear at upper right edge. Otherwise very fine condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
