English edition, third printing. Quarto. xvi, 147, [1, blank], [8, index] pages. Frontispiece and forty-two inserted folding maps. One-quarter bound in brown paper (?) with calf-covered boards; gilt-stamped border at edges of boards. All edges trimmed. Rebacked; fairly extensive chipping to calf at edges, including loss to gilt border; boards scuffed, scratched and cracked; corners worn round. Wear and chipping to fore-edge of text block; minor dust soiling, staining to top and bottom edges. Interior of text block faintly toned; occasional small splashes of ink; moderate offsetting from exposed plates. Soft yellowing, some creasing to edges of plates. Title-page guarded, appears to be later repair. Good interior in fair binding.
