First edition, with separate clothbound index. Large folios. Contains 175 color plates, each measuring approximately 18.5 x 29.5 inches. Includes topographical maps, charts detailing military divisions and departments, field operations, etc. Clamshell bindings in contemporary quarter leather over cloth boards, spines lettered in gilt.

    Condition: Light scattered foxing and toning throughout. Some plates with minor edge tears. Extremities slightly rubbed and edgeworn. An excellent copy.
