    A Rare Atlas with Forty-Four Hand-Colored Maps

    [Atlas]. A General Atlas, being a Collection of Maps of the World and Quarters the Principal Empires, Kingdoms &C. with their several Provinces & other Subdivisions, Correctly Delineated. London: Robert Wilkinson, Novr. 1st, 1792 [date of 1793 on Contents leaf]. First edition of this handsome atlas. Folio. Approximately 13 x 9.75 inches. Engraved title-page, letterpress Contents leaf, and complete with forty-four hand-colored plates, two of which are double-page. Contemporary full brown calf, spine ruled in gilt (label missing), gilt board edges. Joints weak (but still attached), binding worn and soiled, engraved title mounted and repaired. Contemporary initials "HW" on front free endpaper. A good copy with maps quite clean and bright.
