    Henri-Edmund Cross. Autograph Letter Signed.
"Henri Edmund Cross." Three pages (of a bifolium) in French, with a canceled postal cover, 4.5" x 6.75", Saint-Raphaël [France]; December 31, 1903. In this letter to the wife of Felix Félix Fénéon (1861-1944), a Parisian anarchist, art critic, and editor who coined the term "Neo-Impressionism," Cross writes that he and his wife thank Madame Fénéon and her husband for their warm wishes. He states that he and his wife had been fortunate the past year since, one after the other, mutual friend Luce [Maximilien Luce (1858-1941), the French Neo-Impressionist artist], Mme. Couturier [?], and most recently the Naus [?] visited them and conveyed very good news of Madame Fénéon and her husband.

Henri-Edmond Cross (1856-1910), born Henri-Edmond-Joseph Delacroix, was a French painter and printmaker. He is most acclaimed as a master of Neo-Impressionism and he played an important role in shaping the second phase of that movement. He was a significant influence on Henri Matisse and many other artists. His work was instrumental in the development of Fauvism.

Condition: The letter has a horizontal fold; otherwise very good.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
