    Description

    H. G. Wells. Material Related to Declaration of the Rights of Man. [London: 1940]. Including galley of General Note of the Rights of Man, with Wells' notes and corrections.

    More Information:

    H. G. Wells. Archive of Material Related to Declaration of the Rights of Man. [London: ca. 1940]. Including an uncorrected galley of the General Note of the Rights of Man, with Wells' personal notes and corrections.

Correspondence from Wells' friend and editor of this work, C. K. Ogden, with typed and carbon copies of drafts with Ogden's manuscript notes, as well as a lengthy letter from Ogden with notes for Wells. Perhaps most interesting is an uncorrected galley of the General Note of the Rights of Man, with Wells' personal notes and corrections. [and:] Six additional galleys of The Rights of Man with notes, presumably by Ogden. Leaves with creases and some staple and paperclip markings. Generally good.

From the John McLaughlin/Book Sail Collection.
