    Late Published Aubrey Beardsley Letter

    Aubrey Beardsley. Autograph Letter Signed with Original Envelope. On blank stationery, written at Hôtel Voltaire in Paris, envelope most marked May 14, 1897. One octavo page, written in black ink, folded horizontally as mailed, framed for an overall size of approximately 16.5 x 19.5 inches, with brass plaque. Published in The Last Letters of Aubrey Beardsley (London, 1904). "My dear --- / This is a cheap / reproduction of Callot's Saint / Sebastian; I hope it may / be of some use to you. / Please let me know when / there is anything I can / do for you in Paris. / Ever yours / Aubrey Beardsley." Stationery appears fine, and envelope with only light wear as expected, though neither were removed from frame on inspection. Gray CXII. From the Collection of Ellis MacGregor Pryce-Jones.
