"This compilation of original memoirs and biographies of Confederate soldiers, predominantly Texans, is for the Texas-Confederate era what Hunter's Trail Drivers of Texas is for the era of cattle drivers. Most of the memoirs are unpublished elsewhere; most are by ordinary soldiers" (Jenkins, Basic Texas Books). 2,006 entries, according to Jenkins, arranged alphabetically. Also included is the constitution of the Confederate States of America, roster of the congress of the Confederate States, a chronological list of engagements by state, and the flags of the Confederacy.

    Basic Texas Books 223. Broadfoot, p. 505.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
