Publisher's original black cloth spine with pictorial paper boards. Boards toned and with occasional soiling; corners and spine ends worn; contemporary gift inscription on the half-title page; light toning to contents, else very good condition. An autobiographical story, told entirely in woodcuts, without any text at all. The story chronicles Ward's struggles in the 1920s with his art and life. This was the first of Lynd Ward's six well known and respected wordless novels told through wood engravings.
