    Liturgical Calendar Page From a French Book of Hours Listing the Saints' Days to Be Observed For the Month of January, Ca. 1465. 5 x 7 inches. Vellum. Single columns on the recto and verso in Gothic liturgical book script. Slight toning at edges. Fine.

    More Information: A single leaf of thin vellum, with single columns on the recto and verso in Gothic liturgical book script. Gold embellished capitals and delicate ivy spray borders. Slight toning at the edges and three minute worm holes which don't affect text, else fine. The consignor has included a typed note with an old J. J. Gillespie gallery label affixed to it. The note reads: "When removed from the previous frame, this label was stuck to the backing, along with a note identifying the Illumination as a 'Kalendar' [sic] page from a French Book of Hours dating from 1465".
