First edition of first lithographed facsimile of the First Folio. Approximately 15.75 x 9.75 inches. [xix], 399 pages. With the facsimile of the original title-page with Droeshout's famous engraving of Shakespeare. Publisher's original full brown cloth over beveled boards, covers decoratively ruled and paneled in blind, gilt central stamp of the Shakespearian arms, spine ruled, tooled, and lettered in gilt. Some wear to binding, some of which has been professionally repaired, hinges starting, a few very minor tears in text (not affecting printed material). "The first faithful reproduction of the Jaggard canon. It was executed (from the originals at Bridgewater House and the British Museum) at H. M. ordinance survey office (Jaggard, p. 539).
