    More Information:

Samuel Pepys. Memoirs of Samuel Pepys. Edited by Richard, Lord Braybrooke. London: Henry Colburn, 1825. First edition of the first attempt to publish Pepys' diary. Two large quarto volumes. With thriteen plates (one folding). No half-titles. Contemporary three-quarter leather over marbled boards with gilt spine titles and decorative stamping. Significant wear to the bindings, with inexpert modern tape reinforcements to the spines. Spine of volume one partially detached, with the front board detached along with the preliminaries up to the title page. Minor scattered foxing within. A good copy, but could present much better with a little attention to the binding.
