Pierre Brebiette (1598 - circa 1650), a French painter and engraver, a famed painter at the time is only known to have one surviving painting. Most of his engravings and prints, which are scarce, are signed with a monogram and not in full, which we have here in these engravings. This work is not mentioned in any reference to him and is showing his last name on all plates.
