First Edition.Oldmixon, John 1673-1742, historian and pamphleteer, " In 1709-10 he published ÔThe History of Addresses,Õ a criticism of the professions of loyalty then, as at former political crises, so freely presented to the sovereign."[DNB] This has occasionally been ascribed to Swift but most sources list Oldmixion as the author.
