Frontis portrait insert of author, intertextual illustrations. Modern full leather, following the design of the publisher's sheep binding with red and black labels on spine, housed in a custom cloth slipcase, corners bumped on rear panel. Small open tear on lower corner of author frontis portrait, restored on verso. Restoration on edges of pp. [1]-[4]. Crease on upper corner of pages 157/158 and pages 195/196. Chipping on terminal sheets. Pencil annotation on upper margin of p [220]. A bit of rubbing on leather binding, sheets and edges toned and soiled, some text and illustrations affected. A very good copy. BAL 3415.
