    Mark Twain. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Tom Sawyer's Comrade). New York: Charles L. Webster and Company, 1885. First American edition, early issue, with the following points: page [13], the illustration captioned 'Him and another Man' is incorrectly listed as at p. 88 (BAL first state); page 57, the eleventh line from the bottom reads 'with the was' instead of 'with the saw' (BAL first state). MacDonnell's first state of "Huck Decided" instead of "Huck Decides" under "Chapter VI" on p. [9].

    Octavo. 366 pages. Re-backed contemporary leather, red and black leather spine labels lettered in gilt. Boards slightly splayed, leather and board edges rubbed with some abrasions on edges, some loss to original backstrip. Text block moderately toned, small ink stain on lower corner of fore-edge, hinges repaired with cloth adhesives, signs of erasure on front pastedown, a few chips on edges of front and rear free endpapers. A good, clean copy.
