    Jules Janin. L'Ane Mort. Paris: Ernest Bourdin, 1842. Illustrated edition. Quarto. French language text. Engraved frontispieces, title page vignette, plates and numerous in-text illustrations. Bound by Boutigny in full green leather with heavy gilt stamped illustration and floral decorations on both covers, gilt floral designs and titles on spine, all edges gilt. Binding rubbed, corners bumped, spine ends chipped, front joint cracked, rear joint starting. Bookseller's pencil annotations on front endpapers, small binders label on verso of front free endpaper, foxing throughout (heavier on plates), tissue guard off-set on both plates and facing text, occasional minor soiling. Very good.
