    More Information:

Guicciardini, the nephew of Francesco, was born in Florence in 1521. He "was educated with a view to general science, in the pursuit of which he gave the preference to mathematics, geography, and history. About 1550 he took up his residence in the Low Countries, where he continued until his death, March 22, 1589. His principal work was a Description of the Low Countries. Our work on the "Affairs of Europe, particularly on the Low Countries, from 1529 to 1560" is valuable for its contemporary account of its period. The work first appeared in Antwerp and was followed by this "pirate' edition in the same year but the close association of this publication with Sansovono seems to provide a clue that it was reprinted with his knowledge. Adams G1534. (also lacking K8). BM STC (ital.) 321. EDIT 16 cnce 22338.
