    G[eorge] W[ashington] Cable. Autograph Letter Signed, Simsbury, Conn., Sep. 5, 1885. Folded to measure 8 x 5 inches. Two pages. Folding creases. General handling wear with separations on horizontal fold, the largest measuring 1.75 inches. Very good. From the collection of Donald Kaufmann.

    To "Mr. Bridgeman." In part: "Now, I don't know anything about business in New England & you will understand that it is in this ignorance that I make my proposition. I want to offer Mr. Averill $5,000 cash for his house."
