With an Exact Collation of the Two Original Editions, Published by Himself at London in Quarto; the Former Containing the First Three Books Printed in 1590, and the Latter Six Books in 1596. To which are now added A New Life of the Author, and also a glossary. Adorn'd with thirty-two copper-plates, from the original drawings of the late W. Kent, Esq.: Architect and personal Painter to His Majesty. London: J. Brindley and S. Wright, 1751.

    Early edition with the Kent illustrations. Three quarto volumes. xxxvii, lxiii, [1], 453, [1]; 450; 440 pages. Complete with thirty-two folded copper-plate engravings mounted to stubs.

    Skillfully bound to style in modern full mottled calf, spines elaborately tooled in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, blue and burgundy gilt morocco lettering labels, gilt board edges, new endpapers. Some minor occasional thumbsoiling in text, light foxing to plates, one leaf in Volume I with a short tear at the outer margin, not affecting text. A fine set with the full complement of illustrations.
