First edition in the original twenty numbers bound in nineteen parts. Nineteen octavo volumes (8.75 x 5.5 inches; 220 x 139 mm.). 624 pages. Forty inserted plates including the frontispiece and vignette title. Original green printed wrappers with cover design by Phiz. Part XIII lacking the Lett's advertisement as called for but seven sample pieces present; Part IX lacking the two-page "Leila" ad. Touches of thumbsoiling and splashes to wrappers; edges ruffled; interior only occasionally foxed. Generally near fine with occasional instances of expert mends to wrappers. Housed in a custom clamshell case. Hatton and Cleaver pp. 253-272.
