    Charles Dickens. The Mystery of Edwin Drood. London: Chapman & Hall, April 1870 - September 1870. First edition issued in six parts, excepting Part IV which is a later issue with the price "Eighteenpence" printed on the upper wrapper. Octavo. This set collates complete, with all wrappers, advertisements, and slips present; including the "Cork Hat" slip in Part II. Illustrated with fourteen plates by Luke Fildes, engraved on wood by Dalziel, C. Roberts, and others. Publisher's pictorial blue-green paper wrappers after C. A. Collins (brother of Wilkie Collins). Minor to moderate edgewear with some losses, Part V with a few small open tears to the upper wrapper, minor intermittent foxing and soiling. Internally generally clean and tight; somewhat foxed but chiefly to margins and edges, minor intermittent soiling, minor text block edgewear. Housed in three-quarter green morocco slipcase over green cloth, spine stamped in gilt; minor edgewear. Very good.
