Portrait frontispiece, vignette title-page, and twelve additional inserted plates. Contemporary half green calf over marbled paper-covered boards, spine tooled in blind and gilt with red leather label lettered in gilt, boards ruled in blind; text block edges trimmed and sprinkled red. Spine sunned and scuffed with wear at ends and lighter wear along joints; further scratches, rubbing, and minor soiling to boards; corners bumped. Endpapers foxed; previous owner bookplate at front pastedown. Text block foxed throughout; gutter between final page of text and rear ad leaf cracked, but still sound. Very good.
