    More Information:

Charles Dickens. The Mystery of Edwin Drood. With Twelve Illustrations by S. L. Fildes, and a Portrait. London: Chapman and Hall, 1870. First edition, in the original six monthly parts, as issued. Octavo. [i]-[viii], [1]-190. Fourteen inserted plates after Fildes, cut by Dalziel, Roberts and others (includes the portrait and the vignette title).  Original green printed wrappers. Wrappers of Part VI in first issue with "Price Eighteenpence" slip over printed price. Parts with the usual repairs and rebacking. Text and plates clean. A few parts with ownership signatures on front wrapper. Collates well with only three ads wanting: the rare "cork" ad in Part II and two (of three) ads missing  in the rear of part V. With an inset ad of Dickens' Works not called-for in the rear of Part VI. A near fine set of Dickens final work, left unfinished at his death in June, 1870 - lending a permanent air of mystery to the novel, the Master's only attempt in the genre created by his friend and associate Wilkie Collins.  Chemised in a quarter green morocco pull-off case. Hatton and Cleaver, pp. 371-382.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
