Octavo. 190, [2] pages, continuously paginated; two preliminary illustrated plates with tissue guards; complete with all ads as per Hatton and Cleaver. Publisher's light blue oversized illustrated wrappers, No. VI with publisher's sticker adjusting price to Eighteenpence. Wrapper edges chipped, particularly volume one; backstrips cracked and chipped with loss and possible old repairs and resulting adhesive residue; wrappers mildly toned and soiled; contemporary bookseller sticker on front wrap of volume VI. Housed in a custom clamshell case. Dickens's final work, left unfinished after his death. Hatton and Cleaver, pp. 371-382. From the Collection of Daniel J. King.
