    More Information: Charles Dickens. Great Expectations. London: Chapman and Hall, 1862. First edition in one volume. Octavo. [4], 524 pages; frontispiece and inserted vignette title-page. Rebound and re-dyed brown with original cloth mounted over new boards, remains of original backstrip laid down; front and back stamped in blind, spine in gilt. Endpapers washed brown. All edges rough-trimmed. Minor shelf wear at extremities; soft bumping to corners; mounted backstrip pulling up just slightly at edges; staining to top half of front board; small splash at top of back; some small spots of dark soiling to spine. Fairly mild darkening to top edge of text block. Endpapers repaired at inner hinge; some rubbing to color. Small tear to fore-edge of leaf with pages 145-46. Very occasional light thumbsoiling throughout text block. Good. Gimbel A148. From the Collection of Jerome P. O'Connor.
