Five illustrated plates by J.E. Millais. Publisher's brown cloth with gilt titles to front cover and spine, re-backed with original spine laid on, refreshed yellow endpapers. Boards rubbed, bumped around edges and corners, scuffed and stained, spine bumped at head and foot, small tears and scratches, gilt faded; title page and last page over-glued to free endpapers, paper lifts on title page, B1 (first page of story) coming loose, OO5 (last page of story) with small tear in text, no loss, and over-opened at lower half, few loose pages and plates, edge wear, small edge tears, foxing, occasional soiling and stains; else in fair condition.
