    Alfred Tennyson. INSCRIBED. The Works of Alfred Lord Tennyson. London: Macmillan and Co., 1884. Inscribed by the author on the verso of the first volume's front free endpaper: "Mary Stewart [?]/ from/ Tennyson/Oct.2/ 1885." Beneath which is a holograph pen inscription in another hand: "With all best wishes from all at Aldworth/ H.T."
    Seven octavo volumes. 313; 317; 396; 230; 184; 327; 208 pages. Engraved frontispiece in volume one. Uniformly bound in full red morocco with blind stamped rules on boards, five raised bands on spine with gilt titles in compartments, gilt dentelles, decorated endpapers, reading ribbons, all edges gilt. Bindings rubbed, chipped, and scratched, joints rubbed and worn; holograph pencil book dealer's marks over Tennyson inscription, inscribed page pulling away from gutter due to frequent opening, occasional smudges or small stains; otherwise in very good condition.
