8vo. Half-title; with 8 pp. publisher's catalogue inserted before half-title, dated July 1859. Original blindstamped green cloth, gilt-lettered on spine; cloth slipcase. Includes a letter of authenticity from PSA.

FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR on the half-title: "B Graham / from A Tennyson." First state, without printer's imprint on title verso, and ads dated July 1859. A very fine presentation copy of Tennyson's 12-cycle narrative poem retelling the legend of King Arthur.

Accompanied by an LOA from PSA/DNA.

Condition: Spine very slightly faded; very minor rubbing to extremities; otherwise fine.

Provenance: B. Graham (presentation inscription); purchased from R. R. G. Hollett, Greenbank, Sedbergh, Yorkshire. From the William A. Strutz Library.
