Five octavos from the "Moxon's Popular Poets" series, each edited and with a critical memoir by William Michael Rossetti. Frontispieces. Blue, red and green bindings. Publisher's cloth covered boards with beveled edges, elaborately embossed in black and gold; gilt titles on front cover and on spine, all edges gilt. Included are the works of James Russell Lowell, Felicia Hemans, James Thomson, John Geenleaf Whittier, and Rossetti's Lives of Famous Poets. The Hemans volume with bookplate remnants on front pastedown. Bindings rubbed and soiled, edge wear and small corner bumps. Whittier's spine lightly sunned. Inscriptions and occasional holograph annotations, few over-opened pages, light foxing and minor soiling; otherwise in very good condition.
