First edition, first printing of part one, part two with copyright notice on page [98]. iv, [5]-94, [97]-169 pages. Lacking blank page between parts. Full calf with single gilt rules and blind stamped diamond design on boards, lacking backstrip, marbled edges and matching endpapers. Bookplate of "S.V.S Wilder" on front pastedown. Boards detached, rubbed, chipped and lightly soiled; rear free endpaper coming loose, both title pages with holograph ink signature dated "1819" in upper margins; pages foxed (heavier in borders), few small edge tears and minor loss in margins not affecting text; otherwise internally in very good condition.
