    Mixed editions. Three quarto volumes. 275; 277; 276 pages. A total of seventy-eight colored plates by Thomas Rowlandson, including the frontispieces. Also, there is a colored vignette on the title page of Volume I. Volumes II and III include the placement of plates directions for the binder.

    Attractively bound in full red morocco with decorative gilt-tooled borders to boards. Raised bands. Gilt lettering to spines. All edges gilt. Inside dentelles. Marbled endpapers.

    The lengthy doggerel verse by William Combe which comprises the text of these minor classics are over-shadowed by Rowlandson's iconic and playful caricatures.
