Signed by Rockwell Kent on limitation page in Volume I. Two volumes. xviii, 1-779, [780] pages; viii, [ix, x], 780-1527, [1528], [2, blank] pages. Forty black and white illustrated plates. Publisher's deep greenish blue cloth over beveled boards, front board embossed with globe theatre and "W.S." motif on upper center, vellum spine labels lettered in gilt, top edges gilt, fore-edges and tail edges untrimmed, housed in slipcase. Board edges a bit rubbed, spines slightly darkened, spine labels modestly curling. Text block edges lightly foxed, gutter margin over-opened at front free endpaper verso and limitation page. Slipcase heavily worn, somewhat toned, splitting and separation occurring. A very good set in a fair slipcase. [together with:] Forty original lithographs from Kent's Forty Drawings ... to Illustrate the Works of William Shakespeare. [Garden City: 1936-37]. A group of forty published in an edition of 1000 sets, including the one print signed by Kent. Each matted to approximately 18 x 15 inches, and housed in original box. The plates a bit mat toned, with one mat somewhat soiled and toned. Original box worn and splitting at edges, lid slightly dampstained. Very good illustrated plates.
