Frontispiece portrait of John Milton, extra engraved title page with vignette, and four portrait plates of poets. Full leather with blind stamped rules and decorations, five raised spine bands with blind stamped decorations and gilt lettered title in compartments, all edges gilt and gauffred. Binding rubbed at extremities, two leaves imperfectly trimmed (extending slightly beyond the textblock edges), hinges lightly cracked, contemporary ink inscription on front fly-leaf, some soiling and foxing. Very good. [together with:] The Life of Our Savior. New Haven: S. Babcock, 1840. An eight page pamphlet, approximately 2 x 3 inches, in decorative printers wraps. Seven illustrations. Occasional light soiling and foxing, holograph pencil name and marks. Very good. From the Estate of Rod McKuen.
