Banded spine with title in gilt lettering. Red speckled edges. Light browning, especially around edges, foxing and occasional dampstains. Library stamp on top and bottom edges.     More Information:

    George Granville (1667-1735) succeeded Walpole as British secretary of war and remained in favor until the accsession of George I.  As a poet he tended to imitate the style of Waller, even the faults.  He was the first patron of Pope.
