    Folio. Contemporary mottled calf, front and rear board ruled in gilt, six raised bands and gilt titles on spine, all edges red. Front board detached but present, boards heavily rubbed and scuffed with some chipping, corners bumped, edges worn and abraded with boards showing at corners, gilt faded on spine, chipping to calf on boards, rear joint cracked and rear hinge starting. Toning on edges and pages, some color-fading on text block edges, creasing and ink ownership signature on title page, front free endpaper, title page, and pages [1]/[2] detached and laid in, ink and pencil annotations in margins, light to moderate scattered foxing, dampstaining on upper margins near gutter, occasional thumbprints, a few spatter ink stains affecting text on page 56, terminal leaves of index separating. A good copy.
