    [Featured Lot]. [George Cruikshank - ALS]. William Harrison Ainsworth. The Miser's Daughter: A Tale... With Illustrations by George Cruikshank. London: Parry and Co., 1848. Octavo. With an autograph letter signed by illustrator George Cruikshank tipped-in on verso of the frontispiece and dated 11th December, 1851. Frontispiece and nineteen illustrated plates by George Cruikshank. Bound in red cloth with gilt illustrations and titles on front cover and spine. Binding rubbed, edges worn, corners bumped with lower corners exposing boards, small spine tears, spine color faded, front joint cracking. Hinges cracked. Front free endpaper and following leaves, including the tipped-in letter and the title page, have come loose from binding. Few small pencil annotations on the Cruikshank letter: "8/ Temperance meeting" with more on facing page. Foxing, occasional soiling, and some image off-set. A very good candidate for restoration.
