"The New Spectacle of 'Scraps from Pickwick'"

[Charles Dickens]. Theater Broadside for an 1837 Scottish Stage Adaptation of Pickwick Papers. Edinburgh: Theatre Royal, December 5, 1837. Measures approximately 8.5625" x 11.125". Matted to an overall size of 12" x 14.875". The broadside here plugs "a New Melo-Dramatic Extravaganza, in Two Parts, comprising Scraps from Pickwick, Embodied in Song, Dance, Dialogue, and Action..." First billing here is for a revival of Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors. Near the bottom, one can read of "the loud and rapturous approbation of a brilliant and Fashionable Audience" which earlier performances of Scraps from Pickwick earned. Light folds. Creasing, mostly to left edge and bottom right corner. Toning around the edges. Very good condition. Interesting note: this production appeared less than one month after the completion of the parts issue and simultaneous publication of the first book edition of The Pickwick Papers, both in November 1837. From the Victor Gulotta Collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
