First Edition of As I Lay Dying, in the Original Dust Jacket

William Faulkner. As I Lay Dying. New York: Jonathan Cape: Harrison Smith, 1930. First edition, first printing, second state of text and binding, this copy with the following points: the initial letter "I" properly aligned with the rest of the text on page 11, and the lettering on front cover properly placed but lacking the upper serif on the first "I" . Octavo. [vi], 254 pages. Publisher's beige cloth with brown titles on the front board and spine. Original printed dust jacket. Jacket spine browned and chipped (with some loss of text), some toning to jacket panels, some wear to jacket extremities, cloth spine a bit dull, front hinge has a small tear near the top, previous owner's inkstamp on rear free endpaper. Overall, very good. Petersen A7b, A7e.
