Octavo (8.25 x 5.25 inches; 209 x 133 mm.). 384 pages. With inserted limitation page and map of Yoknapatawpha county. Publisher's green cloth backstrip over patterned paper boards, spine ruled and lettered in gilt. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Spine sunned; some rubbing to edges of spine and boards; boards a bit toned; boards slightly rounded; endleaves a bit offset; bookplate of Alan K. Dolliver on front pastedown. Overall, a near fine copy. "...the peak of Faulkner's fictional achievement." (Karl 582). From the James C. Seacrest Collection.
