Inscribed First Edition in Dust Jacket

Wallace Stegner. On a Darkling Plain. New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1940. First edition. Inscribed by Stegner: "For David, with the hope / that he will cover it with / dead leaves. / Wallace Stegner" on the half-title page. Octavo. 321 pages. Publisher's original green cloth lettered in silver on the spine. Dust jacket. Modest shelf wear to boards; loss of silver to publisher's name on the spine; light foxing to endpapers and edges of text block; jacket with cockling, more so on the rear panel with some restoration to the corners, else a very good copy of this scarce, early Stegner title. Housed in a custom clamshell case.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
