Two volumes, sixteenmo (7 x 4.375 inches; 178 x 112 mm.). [2], 188, [1, blank], [1, printer's imprint], [2, blank]; 223, [1, printer's imprint] pages (note: pages 11-12 not accounted for in pagination of first volume). Publisher's perfect binding in original wrappers, printed in green and black. Backstrips faintly browned; spines lightly creased; occasional trivial edgewear or very minor rubbing. Page edges and margins very faintly tanned. Near fine. A beautiful set. Basis for the 1962 Stanley Kubrick film starring Peter Sellers, James Mason and Shelley Winters, revisited in 1997 by Adrian Lyne.
